Pepperdine has lost six in a row to the Pilots and hasn’t won at Portland since 1993, but the Waves catch the WCC’s last-place team at an opportune time. Freshman guard Jason Franklin, Portland’s leading scorer with a 16-point average, is not expected to play because of flu that caused him to sit out the team’s two games last week. Center Bryan Hill averages 13.9 points and eight rebounds for Pepperdine, which already has equaled its WCC victory total of last season.
