Antelope Valley Zooms in on 20 With Victory Over Victor Valley

The Antelope Valley College men’s basketball team made its quickest trip to 20 victories in school history Wednesday night with a 92-80 Foothill Conference North Division victory over host Victor Valley.
John Burrell led the Marauders (20-4, 1-0 in division play) with 24 points. Jonathon George had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Trevor Beal had 16 points and Michael Hamelin contributed 15 points, nine assists and six steals.
Canyons 72, Glendale 59--Curtis Wills had 25 points to lead the Cougars (10-11, 1-0) in a Western State Conference South Division game at Canyons.
Valley 78, Santa Monica 74--Tyreese Basey scored 19 points and Gianandrea Marcaccini added 18 for the Monarchs (15-8, 1-0) in a WSC South Division game at Valley.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Ventura 78, Hancock 46--Brianna Kanongata’a had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pirates (22-1, 1-0) in a WSC North Division game at Ventura.
