In other Pacific Coast League games:

University 92, Costa Mesa 90--Ali Omid made a layup off an assist from Eric Palmer with seven seconds remaining to break a 90-90 tie for host University, which trailed, 70-50, with two minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Costa Mesa’s John Payne made a three-pointer with 18 seconds remaining to tie it at 90, but the Mustangs turned the ball over after Omid’s layup. Matt Chaisson scored 28 points for Costa Mesa (4-12, 0-3).

Nima Adloo scored 21 points and Palmer had 19 for University (12-6, 3-0), which had six players score in double figures.

Laguna Hills 68, Laguna Beach 60--Saia Makakaufaki scored 23 points for Laguna Hills (6-12, 1-2). Teammate Bill Reitkirk had 14 points. B.J. Jameson led Laguna Beach (7-11, 0-3) with a game-high 24 points, including six three-pointers.

In the Empire League:

Cypress 48, Century 47--Wes Bunn made a driving layup with three seconds remaining. Bunn scored a game-high 28 points for Cypress (13-7, 3-1). Century (12-8, 9-1) rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit and took a one-point lead with 10 seconds left.

El Dorado 52, Katella 44--Ryan Tenpas scored 10 of his 16 points in the first quarter as El Dorado built a 12-point lead and never trailed. Tenpas also had 13 rebounds and Ryan Ayer scored a game-high 18 points for the Golden Hawks (15-5, 2-2). Katella (15-4, 3-1) falls into a three-way tie for first with Century and Cypress.

Loara 65, Kennedy 63--Neil Thomas scored 14 points and Obaid Popal and Martin Banda each had 13 for Loara (11-9, 1-3).

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 61, Los Amigos 58 (OT)--Jeff Pocorora scored the winning shot with 20 seconds left in overtime for Garden Grove (7-12, 3-2). Pocorora finished with 12 points. Teammate Eric Kenneth led the Argonauts with 16 points. Los Amigos (9-9, 3-2) was led by John Elsaesser, who scored a game-high 19 points.

La Quinta 56, Santiago 31--Scott Ogilvie scored 11 of his 21 points in the first quarter to help La Quinta take the early lead, 18-8. La Quinta (12-7, 4-1) led by eight after three quarters, but broke it open by holding Santiago (5-11, 1-4) to three points in the fourth quarter.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 68, Magnolia 33--Robert Smith scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Valencia (13-6, 3-0). John Frechette added 12 points and four steals and Rich Reynoza scored 12 points and had seven assists. Sam Uai led Magnolia (11-8, 1-2) with 12 points.

Western 42, Savanna 38--Ryan Harrington made two free throws with 26 seconds remaining to give Western a four-point lead. Harrington scored 19 points for the Pioneers (5-14, 1-2). Enele Boone had a game-high 23 points for Savanna (4-14, 1-2).

In the Sea View League:

El Toro 72, Corona del Mar 59--Fab Mendiola scored a game-high 28 points to lead El Toro (15-5, 2-2). Teammate Mark Wulfemeyer had 14 points for the Chargers. Nick Friend led Corona del Mar (4-16, 0-4) with nine points.

Newport Harbor 53, Irvine 52--Newport Harbor’s 15-2 run in the fourth quarter put the Sailors in command and they withstood a late rally. Matt Jameson scored 18 points for Newport Harbor (11-9, 2-2). Scott Hanson scored 14 points for Irvine (10-10, 1-3).

Woodbridge 62, Santa Margarita 55--With both teams coming in undefeated in league play, Santa Margarita came out strong in the first half, outscoring Woodbridge, 40-23. But the Warriors came back in the second half with a tough defense that allowed Santa Margarita only 15 points.

Chris Burgess had a game-high 23 points for Woodbridge (15-4, 4-0). Ryan Forehand-Kelly had 15 to lead Santa Margarita (12-6, 3-1).

In the South Coast League:

Mater Dei 86, San Clemente 52--Kevin Augustine scored 20 points and had eight assists to lead top-ranked Mater Dei (18-2, 4-0). David Castleton added 19 points and Tom Lippold scored 15. San Clemente (15-4, 2-2), 10th-ranked, was led by Semaj Johnson with 13 points.
