Urohealth Systems Inc.: The Newport Beach designer and manufacturer of medical products posted net income of $2.7 million, or 15 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter, contrasted with a net loss of $15.3 million, or $1.24 a share, for the same period a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 more than doubled to $29.7 million from $11.6 million. For the nine-month period, the company reported a net loss of $27.1 million, or $1.74 a share, which included a $25.5-million write-off of purchased research and development. That compares with a net loss of $21.8 million, or $1.77 a share, for the comparable three quarters of the prior year. Sales rose 80% to $68 million from $37.8 million.
