Supervisors to Consider Relocating Airport Offices

A plan to relocate the administrative offices of John Wayne Airport will come before the Board of Supervisors next week.
The airport offices are now in four leased buildings. The plan calls for all offices to be combined into one building on Airway Avenue that is owned by the county.
Renovations to the building would cost between $1.5 million and $2 million. But officials said the airport would save $1 million over five years because it would not be making lease payments. They said the renovations would pay for themselves in a decade.
“Putting everyone into one building will improve operations,” added airport spokeswoman Kathleen Campini Chambers.
The board meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 10 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana. Information: (714) 834-2206.
