Applicants Sought for Police Funding Panel
- Share via
The city is seeking applicants for a new committee that will help decide how to spend state and federal funding on local police efforts.
Upcoming tasks for the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Committee include advising the City Council how to distribute $97,491 in federal funds and $237,582 in state monies.
The council makes all final decisions on how to spend the money.
Federal regulations require that the committee include one person from each of five groups: local law enforcement, the prosecutors office, the courts, schools and a nonprofit organization active in crime or drug prevention programs.
The advisory board is expected to meet twice in a two-month period.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest and a brief resume to Mayor Peter Buffa, City Hall, P.O. Box 1200, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92628-1200.
Information: (714) 754-5688.
