The Los Angeles Animal Regulation Commission will meet Monday at Reseda High School in the first of four quarterly sessions planned for various Los Angeles communities.
The board, the governing body of the city Department of Animal Regulation, usually meets downtown the first and third Monday of each month.
“The commission welcomes input from the public and we hope these steps will enhance the accessibility of our meetings,” said commission President Steven Afriat. “Our quarterly community meetings should provide a unique opportunity for us to discuss animal-related issues and policies on a neighborhood level.”
Other city agencies--most notably, the City Council--have held meetings in city neighborhoods in an effort to better address residents’ concerns.
The Department of Animal Regulation houses and cares for animals in six city shelters, enforces animal-related laws and tries to prevent cruelty to animals.
Monday’s meeting begins at 5 p.m. in Regent Hall at Reseda High, 18230 Kittridge St.
