Titans Rout Anteaters, Stop Losing Streak at Eight

Cal State Fullerton ended an eight-game losing streak by beating UC Irvine, 79-55, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Thursday at Fullerton.
UC Irvine was tied for first in conference. Andrea Thieme had 29 points and six assists for Fullerton (6-9, 1-4), which shot 54% from the field in the first half to build a 16-point lead.
Sabrina Roberson and Chelsea Mackey each scored 12 points for Irvine (8-8, 3-2), which struggled and shot 29% from the field in the second half.
In another Big West Conference game:
UC Santa Barbara 83, Long Beach State 54--The Gauchos took a 40-14 lead into the half after holding Long Beach to only four field goals in 29 attempts. The 49ers (6-10, 3-2) bounced back to shoot 49% in the second half but it wasn’t enough to catch Santa Barbara (11-5, 4-1).
Toby Metoyer had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Kesha Wade scored 14 points for Long Beach. Kristi Rohr and Erin Alexander each had 14 points for Santa Barbara.
