Guess Is ‘Dead’ Wrong

In his review of “Albino Alligator” (“Stylish ‘Alligator’ Honors Gangster Films,” Jan. 17) Jack Matthews made a goof that’s sure to create a lot of eye-rolling among film buffs. He refers to the Humphrey Bogart poster in Dino’s Bar as probably being from either “Key Largo,” “The Big Sleep” or “To Have and Have Not” because of the female co-star also pictured on it. Sorry, Jack, the lady is not Lauren Bacall. She’s Lizabeth Scott, and the film was “Dead Reckoning.” I’m afraid you didn’t look closely enough before you made that leap.
