White’s Sermon a Change of Pace

Kudos to Reggie White! And kudos to writer T.J. Simers. Reggie’s comments [Jan. 22] addressed many of the issues in the sports news today, such as the standards used by the media and the general public that designate athletes as role models.
Unfortunately, Dennis Rodman is a very poor example of a role model, but a good example of how the media’s attention to his antics can turn him or any other negative high-profile athlete into an overnight success.
