Diana V. Hoffman; Community Leader

Diana V. Hoffman, 78, community leader who worked for youth education and North Hollywood development. A native of New York, Hoffman was educated at Hunter College there and because of her work with alumni was inducted into the Hunter Hall of Fame in 1987. She served for six years on an advisory committee to the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency for the 740-acre North Hollywood district. A remedial reading teacher, Hoffman was active in the Friends of North Hollywood Library and an advisor to the North Hollywood Community Adult School. She was president of the East Valley Coordinating Council and the North Hollywood Optimist Dinner Club. She was also active in the San Fernando Valley Orchid Society and several support groups for Southern California theaters. Hoffman was congregation secretary of Temple Beth Meier in Studio City for 30 years. On Wednesday in North Hollywood of cancer.
