Forward Danny Fortson, ninth in the nation averaging 23.4 points to go with 10 rebounds, presents a matchup problem for USC, which was victimized inside by UCLA. The Trojans got away from their game plan against the Bruins and must play more structured offensively. “I think some guys are willing to accept [Coach Henry Bibby’s] system, but others, for whatever reason, don’t,” guard Ken Sims said. “I don’t know why.” Guard Damon Flint (10.6-point average) and forward Ruben Patterson (14.5) are top threats for the Bearcats, whose defense ranks ninth nationally in field goal percentage (.374).
