Laker update--The start of the three-game trip that continues to Dallas and San Antonio is also their first road game in nearly three weeks. Hoping to ensure rest with the early start time today in mind, the Lakers left immediately after Friday night’s victory at the Forum and practiced Saturday in Seattle. The 11 offensive rebounds by Travis Knight in Friday’s game against the Warriors was only two shy of the team record held by Magic Johnson and Vlade Divac.
SuperSonic update--They are coming off a loss to the Clippers on Thursday, but have won 15 of the last 17 to temporarily surge past the Lakers for the lead in the Pacific Division. The teams are tied heading into today’s nationally televised showdown. Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton both appear headed for the starting lineup for the Western Conference squad in the All-Star game.
