New Zoning Sought for Office Project Site
- Share via
Proposed zoning changes that would allow construction of a three-story office building and two restaurants on Los Angeles Avenue will come before the city Planning Commission today.
Commissioners will consider plans to rezone about 176,625 square feet of land west of the Mission Bell shopping plaza--land currently zoned for residential development.
If Moorpark officials approve the changes, a developer hopes to build a 52-foot-high office building and two fast-food restaurants on the site.
According to a city report, the project could require the city to change the pattern of lanes on Los Angeles Avenue to deal with increased traffic.
At the intersection with Tierra Rejada Road, the city may eliminate the right-turn-only lanes on Los Angeles Avenue, using the space to create a second left-turn-only lane in each direction.
The zoning changes must also win the approval of the City Council.
