Man Seriously Hurt After Darting Into Traffic

OXNARD — A man who bolted into traffic and was struck by a car was listed in serious condition Sunday night at an Oxnard hospital.
Oxnard Police Sgt. George Pultz said the unidentified man ran into the eastbound lanes of Vineyard Avenue at Edelweiss Street about 8 p.m. He was hit by a red Dodge Colt station wagon.
Details were sketchy late Sunday night, and authorities did not release the name of the driver or the man who was injured.
“Witnesses said he was standing on the corner and tried to run across the street,” Pultz said.
The injured man was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Pultz said.
