Man Arrested in Hit-and-Run Death of Bicyclist

SANTA ANA — A 25-year-old Garden Grove man was arrested at his home Sunday in connection with the a hit-and-run death of a Garden Grove woman who was killed Saturday night while riding her bicycle on 17th Street, police said.
The 40-year-old woman, whose name was being withheld until police could notify her family, was struck by a car at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on the 5100 block of 17th Street. She died at the scene.
The driver, Chong Huy Duong, fled the scene, said Sgt. Steve Despenas of the Santa Ana Police Department. He was arrested Sunday after police found a car that might have been involved in the crash parked outside his home at 13900 Fernwood Drive in Garden Grove.
He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run, Lt. Dave Petko said.
