Authorities on Sunday were looking for the gunman who killed a 32-year-old South-Central Los Angeles man after a brief quarrel in a driveway.
Derrick Phillips was shot after fighting with an unknown man in a white Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, parked in the 1500 block of West 50th Street about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, said LAPD Det. Chuck Merritt.
The man in the car punched Phillips, then shot him and drove off, Merritt said.
Also on Sunday, Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies said an Alhambra man was found shot to death about 5 a.m. in his home in the 2100 block of Orange Grove Avenue. No additional information was released.
