King update--The Kings ended a two-game losing streak with a 2-2 tie with the Mighty Ducks at the Forum on Saturday. Kai Nurminen, who missed the first two games after the All-Star break, returned to score the game-tying goal late in the third period. Goaltender Stephane Fiset, who has given up five goals in four periods since the break, is expected to start tonight.
Star update--With a 5-1 victory at Toronto on Saturday, the Stars completed a three-game trip with a 2-0-1 mark to start the second half of the season. Coach Ken Hitchock’s decision to put struggling Benoit Hogue back on the same line with Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen has worked, as they have combined to score six of the Stars’ 13 goals since the break.
