PLAY OF THE DAY
The Patriots had closed the score to 27-21 and were threatening to make a game out of Super Bowl XXXI when they made their biggest mistake of the day: They kicked to Desmond Howard. The former Heisman Trophy winner from Michigan took the ball at the one-yard line. He didn’t have to make any fancy moves, he simply followed his blockers, found a gap, used his speed and sprinted into the end zone for a record-breaking touchdown.
