The Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd., continues its “Translations: The Jewish Diaspora on Film”--a Sunday 2 p.m. series--this week with Zeno Dostal’s enchanting Czech comedy “The Golet in the Valley.” The film celebrates the joys and challenges of Ukrainian rural life between the world wars. A series of earthy, sensual vignettes centers on a village elder declaring the mikve (ritual bath) unclean, which means that until a rabbi can be brought from a great distance to reconsecrate the tub and its water, the villagers can have no sex. Information: (310) 440-4500.
