Japan Tomb Paintings Topic of Talk

Stephen Steingraber, an expert in ancient art who is affiliated with the University of Tokyo, will speak on Japanese chamber tombs and tomb paintings Sunday at Southern California College.
Steingraber has written a book, “Decorated Tombs in Japan,” as well as a number of museum catalogs.
His lecture, which will focus on Japanese artifacts from the 4th through the 6th centuries, will be sponsored by the Archaeological Institute of America--Orange County Society.
The archeology group presents monthly lectures on an array of archeological topics.
The February session will be at 2 p.m. in the Lyceum at the college, 55 Fair Drive.
Admission will be $5 for the public and $2 for students.
