HUNTINGTON BEACH — A gunman robbed a Gap clothing store and an Albertsons grocery store in a span of 45 minutes Wednesday night and escaped in a car stolen from one of the store’s customers, police said.
Police were searching for the balding, middle-aged man with dark hair and a mustache who robbed a cashier at the Gap at 18541 Beach Blvd. about 9:30 p.m. and demanded car keys from a customer, according to Huntington Beach Police Lt. Gary Brooks.
The robber drove off in the woman’s beige Ford Taurus and, at 10:13 p.m., robbed an employee at the Albertsons at 7101 Warner Ave., Brooks said. In both cases, the robber used a blue-steel handgun and made off with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
The gunman was also described as wearing a blue-and-white checkered shirt and blue jeans, Brooks said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 960-8825.
