In another Sunset League game:
Marina 1, Edison 1--Dave Corbett scored with 20 minutes left to earn a tie for Edison (3-12-3, 1-3-1). Omar Guerrero scored earlier in the second half for Marina (11-6-3, 2-2-1).
In the Golden West League:
Saddleback 0, Santa Ana 0--Efrain Rodriguez posted his third straight shutout with eight saves for Saddleback (8-2-7, 2-0-3). Miguel Ortiz had four saves for Santa Ana (13-0-4, 4-0-2).
Servite 3, Ocean View 2--Servite (13-4-5, 2-1-2), ranked second in Division III, scored three first-half goals. Manny Padilla and freshman John Clark scored second-half goals to make it close for the Seahawks (6-10-1, 2-4).
Westminster 2, Tustin 0--Jesus Flores recorded his 11th shutout of the season. Aaron Rodriguez and Josh Levenshus each scored for Westminster (11-4-2, 2-2).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Aliso Niguel 2, Laguna Hills 1--David Smith and Mike Kendall scored as Aliso Niguel (7-5-5, 2-2-1) knocked Laguna Hills (8-8-4, 2-2-1) out of first place.
In the South Coast League;
Mater Dei 7, Dana Hills 1--Tony Micheletti recorded his second hat trick of the season for third-ranked Mater Dei (14-1-2, 2-1-1) to help beat Dana Hills (4-1 in league). Walter Carmargo scored one goal and had four assists for the Monarchs.
In Sea View League girls’ water polo:
Irvine 7, Newport Harbor 4--Megan Crawford scored four goals and Nicole Huszcz had three for Irvine. Alden Moore scored three goals for seventh-ranked Newport Harbor (12-6, 1-2). Irvine, ranked second in the county, is 16-2, 3-0.
In Sea View League wrestling:
Santa Margarita 38, Irvine 33--Santa Margarita won the last two matches to overtake Irvine for its first victory over the defending league champions. Will Watson beat Irvine’s Nick Sanches, 8-2, at 215 pounds and heavyweight Ryan Thigpen clinched the victory when he pinned Ryan Dickie in 2:47. Santa Margarita leads the league at 4-0. Irvine is 2-2.
