Sahgal’s Goal Prolongs Revival for Crespi, 1-0

Bharat Sahgal took a pass from Justin Spina and scored in the 57th minute to lift the Crespi High boys’ soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Alemany in a Mission League match Wednesday at Alemany.
Sahgal’s goal, his fifth, pushes the Celts (10-4-1, 5-2 in league play) closer to their first winning season since 1987-88 and their first playoff berth since the 1985-86 campaign. Alemany is 2-13, 0-6.
Crespi has compiled a 43-102-19 record since winning back-to-back Del Rey League championships during the 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons. The Celts were 3-12-4 overall and 1-9-2 in league play last season.
Thousand Oaks 2, Camarillo 1--Jared Wolfson converted a penalty kick with eight minutes to play, lifting the Lancers (8-6, 3-3) to a Marmonte League upset at Thousand Oaks.
Kevin Girod scored on a header in the 20th minute to give the Scorpions a 1-0 lead before the Lancers’ Geoff Marcus answered five minutes later.
Newbury Park 2, Channel Islands 0--Alan Milin scored his ninth and 10th goals and goalie Mario Vargas recorded his seventh shutout for the host Panthers (11-3-1, 4-2) in a Marmonte League match.
Simi Valley 4, Westlake 0--John Gonzalez scored his 15th and 16th goals to lead the Pioneers (15-3-3, 5-1-2) past the Warriors (0-8-3, 0-5-1) in a Marmonte League match at Westlake.
Royal 3, Agoura 0--Shaun Neff, Dan Wilson and Brandon Kay scored for the Highlanders (15-5-1, 6-2) in the Marmonte League match at Agoura.
Calabasas 4, Nordhoff 1--Nick Forland scored his 16th goal to help the Coyotes (10-2-2, 6-0) in a Frontier League match at Calabasas.
Moorpark 3, Malibu 1--Juan Amezcua scored his 18th and 19th goals for the Musketeers (10-5-1, 3-1) in a Frontier League victory over the Sharks (7-5, 1-4) at Moorpark.
Reseda 1, Canoga Park 0--Alex Acevedo’s goal in the 34th minute lifted the Regents (9-1-1, 7-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at Canoga Park.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Chatsworth 4, San Pedro 1--Jackie Fodor scored her 10th and 11th goals for the Chancellors (8-1, 3-0) in a Coast/Valley League victory at San Pedro.
Granada Hills 3, Grant 0--Ami Ghoniem scored twice for the Highlanders (6-3-1, 2-0-1) in a Coast/Valley League victory over the Lancers (3-5, 0-5) at Granada Hills.
Simi Valley 2, Westlake 0--Lori Tande scored in the 25th minute and Anna Wolleck in the 73rd for the Pioneers (10-5-1, 7-2) in a Marmonte League victory over the Warriors (7-5-1, 5-2) at Simi Valley.
Aguora 2, Royal 1--Jennifer Graham scored both goals for the Chargers (10-3, 5-2), each off a pass from Mary Stuart, in a Marmonte League match at Royal.
