162-Home Irvine Co. Project Approved
The City Council has approved a zoning change that will allow the Irvine Co. to develop 162 single-family homes on a 31-acre site at Jamboree and Tustin Ranch roads and Portola Parkway.
Under the plan, approved recently by the council, 12 acres of the parcel were changed from commercial to residential zoning. The remaining 19 acres were converted from a high-density residential zoning to medium-low residential.
Also under the plan, Irvine Co. agreed to maintain a citrus grove south of the property that has been designated as a future community park, at a cost of $13,200 a year, and contributed $100,000 to the city’s parks improvement fund.
