Concert for Teens to Benefit the Needy

Teens will be able to help the needy by attending a concert to benefit Food Not Bombs, a nonprofit organization that provides food to the needy, on Saturday in Camarillo.
“The No. 1 purpose of the concert is to give kids an opportunity to enjoy a safe and positive Saturday night,” said Steve Mumper, program director for the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo. This is the third teen concert this year sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club and the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks District.
Five bands, including Monster Squad and the headliner Burning Dog, will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Camarillo Community Center, 1605 E. Burnley St. Admission is $3. The concert is open to everyone ages 13 to 18.
The theme of the night--”Kill Greed”--reflects the way the proceeds will be distributed, Mumper said.
“One dollar will go to the bands, $1 will go to the community center and Boys & Girls Club, and $1 will go to Food Not Bombs,” Mumper said.
Tickets are available at the door.
