Man Stabbed in Head in Scuffle With Teens

A Seal Beach man was stabbed in the head during a scuffle after youths threw soda at his car, police said Thursday.

Parker Mitchell, 19, was released from UCI Medical Center in Orange on Thursday, after being treated for a cut on his left temple.

Police said he and a friend, Paul Robinson, 18, of Huntington Beach, had been driving on Pacific Coast Highway near 1st Street about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday when one of a group of four teenagers on the corner threw a cup at the car. Robinson got out of the car and confronted them, police said.

One teenager pulled out a knife and threatened Robinson with it, Sgt. Mike Reynolds said. Seeing the commotion, Mitchell also approached the group, unaware of the weapon, Reynolds said.

The teenager stabbed Mitchell and threw the knife into bushes on Walnut Street, Reynolds said.

Officers found the weapon and a pair of eyeglasses they believe belongs to one of the assailants.

The boys are described as 15- or 16-year-old Latinos. The teen with the knife wore a blue plaid short-sleeved shirt and wore his hair slicked back, police said. A second teen had a shaved head and wore a blue and white Dallas Cowboy shirt with the number 21 on the front. One teen carried a black backpack.
