The public is invited Saturday to tour the galleries that form part of the city’s fledgling Artists Village during the third Santa Ana Artwalk.
The starting point is the Santora Building at 207 N. Broadway.
The village mostly consists of private galleries, such as the Santora. Other locations include Bowers Museum, Koo’s Cafe and Martinez Book and Art Gallery.
The six-mile walk will cover two square miles. Organizers recommend that participants take free shuttle vans provided by the Santa Ana Parks and Recreation’s Senior Center if they want to visit every location.
Music, dance and sculpture performances also will be offered at the sites throughout the day.
The self-guided tour runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Maps and nearby parking are available at the Santora Building.
Organizers hope that 500 people turn out Saturday--about double the number at last year’s event.
“This is all artist-driven,” said Santora artist and event organizer Randy Au. “We’re putting our own money into it and hope to recoup it through sales.”
