PIRANHAS TONIGHT

Opponent--Texas Terror

Site--The Summit

Time--5

Radio--KPLS (830 AM)

Records--Terror 5-8, Piranhas 2-11

Piranha update--First-year Coach Mike Hohensee and his beat-up players will not be sorry to see this season end tonight. The Piranhas had hoped to improve on last year’s 9-5 mark but they are playing tonight to avoid ending the season as the Arena Football League’s worst team. Portland, New York and Anaheim all have 2-11 records. James Guidry, who came off the bench to spark the Piranhas after John Kaleo injured his knee, will become the team’s fifth starting quarterback tonight. Kaleo will suit up and could play in an emergency situation. The Piranhas will end the season with 11 players on the disabled list.

Terror update--Texas lost to defending ArenaBowl champion Iowa, 70-62, last week. In the game, Texas quarterback Clint Dolezel completed 34 of 43 passes for an Arena League record 449 yards, breaking the old record of 399 by White Tayler of the Denver Dynamite in 1987. Two weeks ago, Dolezel tied an Arena League record with 10 touchdown passes.
