Vigilante update--John Homan, who got his first victory of the season in his last start is on the mound tonight for Mission Viejo. He is 1-0 with a 2.55 earned-run average, which is second best in the league. Mike Smith, who lasted only two innings in his start Wednesday has moved up in the rotation and will pitch Saturday. Sam Taylor leads in home runs with 15 and Alan Burke is second with 13. Mission Viejo pitchers have given up a league-leading 65 home runs.
Posse update--The Posse won seven of the first 11 in the second half but have since lost five in a row. Tri-City is last in the league in hitting with a .253 average through the first 60 games. The team has only 14 home runs, also last in the league. Outfielders Ryan Seidel (Southern California College) and Shawn Scott each have 17 steals.
