The Ringmaster

Designer Johanna Grawunder has come full circle with her latest creations for Salviati, a world leader in glassworks based in Venice.

The clean, deep-cut rings on Grawunder’s Bassorilievi collection lend texture and a bold presence to these reversible candleholders.

The bottleneck design balances a votive-side upon a slender taper cup and, when turned upside down, pedestals that taper upon the votive.

In addition to the candleholders ($75 each), the pattern also adorns a barware collection that features glasses ($80-$100 for a pair) and a champagne bucket ($225-$250).

All of the pieces are cut crystal.

The Sichuan Dahlia vases ($400 each) are a more traditional Salviati item. The brilliance of the vases is achieved by firing colored pigment into the first-stage of molten glass. This age-old technique allows the color to be an integral part of the vase’s presentation.

The vases are available in jade, black, white and red.

Salviati products are available at Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus and Lucy Zahran & Co. in Beverly Hills.

Fresh Air

You might breathe a little easier with Air Supply, a personal air purifier that helps to kill odors and germs.

The purifier, which is battery operated and needs no filters, is small enough to wear around the neck or in a shirt pocket. The purifier projects a stream of ions, which eliminate odors, germs and pollutants such as cigarette smoke from the air that passes through it.

When the wearer inhales, cool air wafts around the face. The purifier covers a range of about 400 square feet.
