Reward Offered in Officer’s Shooting

Long Beach is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the motorist who shot motorcycle officer Brian Watt July 9.
Watt, 29, was shot after pulling over a speeding vehicle that had been carjacked. His helmet deflected one bullet, and authorities say he should recover fully.
The main suspect is Aaron Hefflin, 29, an alleged associate of Compton’s Willow Street gang. Anyone with information is asked to call police toll free at (888) 343-5444.
