PARISH BARBECUE: Sacred Heart Church will hold its annual parish barbecue from 5 to 10 tonight at 45007 N. Cedar Ave., Lancaster. The event will feature Mexican and Filipino foods, as well as live entertainment and games. Proceeds will benefit the Sacred Heart School and the Parish Religious Education Department. NBA MEMORY: “A Weekend To Remember,” with basketball champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Jerry Lucas will begin tonight and continue through Monday at Shepherd of the Hills, 19700 Rinaldi St., Porter Ranch. Lucas, an NBA Hall of Fame recipient, now travels to various congregations and presents lectures on memorization techniques that help Christians and non-Christians. At 6 tonight and at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Lucas will discuss “Family Relationships,” and how to improve them. “Ready, Set, Believe,” an introduction to memory and how to learn the Bible will be presented at 6 p.m. Sunday. “How To Remember Names and Faces,” will be the focus of Lucas’ lecture at 7 p.m. Monday. INTERFAITH LECTURES: The Philosophical Center for Religious Studies will hold a weekly interfaith lecture series in a new location beginning Sunday, announced Clifton W. King, director of the center. DIVORCE AND RECOVERY: Canoga Park Presbyterian Church will continue its divorce recovery seminars and support groups each Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at 22103 Vanowen St. The free meetings include a video presentation and a discussion and are facilitated by Steve Norman, pastor of family ministry. ANGELS: Journalist Pierre Jovanovic, of the French Press Agency in Los Angeles, will discuss “Do Angels Exist?” and present his own personal experiences with angels at a Catholic Community Luncheon, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barone’s, 10123 Riverside Drive, Toluca Lake.
