THREDBO, Australia — Rescuers today frantically dug to reach a man who survived nearly 2 1/2 days under a landslide that buried 20 people.
New South Wales Police Inspector Charlie Sanderson said it was a “miracle” that the man had been found alive about 54 hours after the landslide buried a ski resort Wednesday night.
On Friday, police had told relatives of those missing not to expect survivors.
Meanwhile, police revised the known death toll, saying three people have been confirmed dead.
