Angels Don’t Need McGwire’s Bat

Three cheers to the Angels for not acquiring Mark McGwire before the trading deadline. The character of this team will drive it into the postseason, not McGwire. The acquisition of Ken Hill has already begun to pay off. The Angels have plenty of bats. Just ask opposing pitchers before a game. As for the Angels pursuit of McGwire in the off-season: Don’t waste the time or money. The only reason McGwire has played the entire season so far is that he is in the last year of his contract.
