Zodiac Surprises Third-Place Jaguars

The Zodiac stopped a two-game losing streak by defeating the California Jaguars, 3-1, in an A-League soccer game Friday night in Gonzales.

The Jaguars (12-10), in third place in the Western Division, scored in the 13th minute. The Zodiac’s Juan Guerrero scored his first professional goal on a breakaway in the 27th minute.

The Zodiac (7-12) took the lead in the 65th minute on a penalty kick by Orlando Perez. Gustavo Leal, the Zodiac’s leading scorer, scored his 11th goal of the season, in the 82nd minute.

The Jaguars had two players ejected--Ryan Collins in the 37th minute and Randy Mann in the 72nd.
