Edison Mission Puts 5 in Key Posts

* Stephen P. Barrett, Cynthia S. Dubin, Edward J. Kania, Stephen W. Raab and William P. von Blasingame have been named vice presidents of Edison Mission Energy in Irvine. Barrett oversees Edison Mission Energy’s business development activities in Australia. Dubin is responsible for all financial activities in the company’s Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa regions. Kania heads legal activities in the Asia Pacific region. Raab is responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of Edison Mission Energy’s corporate environmental, health and safety programs. Von Blasingame oversees all financial activities in the Asia Pacific region.

* Roger Massengale has been named vice president, business development, for I-Flow Corp., a Lake Forest medical products company. He was previously director of operations at Block Medical Inc., a subsidiary of Hillenbrand Industries Inc.

* Raymond L. Watson has rejoined the board of directors of Irvine Apartment Communities, a real estate investment trust. Watson, a vice chairman of the Irvine Co., had been on the board from December 1993 to November 1995. He fills a seat that has been vacant since February.

* Loren G. Pleet has been appointed sales and marketing manager for Elna America Inc., a Cypress designer and manufacturer of electrolytic capacitors and associated components. He had been sales manager of Kenwood Communications Corp.’s amateur radio products group.

* Jose Cofino has joined Disneyland in the newly created position of vice president of the Disneyland Center. He was previously president of PepsiCo’s restaurants in Brazil. Before that, Cofino was zone vice president for Taco Bell stores in Southern California and the Northeast, and vice president of Taco Bell Express. Cynthia Harriss has been named vice president, theme park operations and merchandise for the Disneyland Resort. She was formerly senior vice president of stores for the Disney Stores.

* R. Craig Crossley has been named vice president of Furon Co.’s industrial equipment strategic industrial unit. Crossley was previously sales and marketing director for Eaton Corp.’s Aerospace Controls division. Furon, based in Laguna Niguel, is a manufacturer of engineered polymer products for the industrial marketplace.

* Jay Mueller has joined Monitoring Automation Systems in Irvine as vice president of sales and services. He was formerly vice president of sales and marketing at Learning Tree International and Infotec Commercial Systems.

* Richard G. Knoblock has been appointed group president of Newport Beach-based Pacific Scientific Co.’s new Safety and Aviation Group. In addition, Jefferson Z. Amacker was named president of the HTL/Kin-Tech division of the group. Knoblock joined Pacific Scientific in 1988 as president of the Electro Kinetics division and was named president of HTL/Kin-Tech division in 1995. Amacker was formerly president of Teledyne Controls.

* Barbara M. Goss has joined Seabreeze Management Co. Inc. in Aliso Viejo as controller. Previously, she was controller of Hutton Development Co.

* Tim Peeler has been named director, services technology development, for Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. in Tustin. Peeler joined the company in 1985 as a customer engineer for the services department. He has held various positions within the technology services business unit, most recently serving as manager, national services support.

* Rick Gibson has joined Access Television Network in Irvine as vice president of programming. He was formerly account director at MTV Networks. Before that, Gibson was vice president of United Cable Advertising and director of advertising sales and programming at Tribune Company Cable.

* Brian D. Goldner has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing for Bandai America Inc. in Cypress, part of Tokyo-based Bandai Co. Ltd., the third largest toy company in the world. He was most recently a senior partner and director-in-charge of J. Walter Thompson Co. in Los Angeles.
