2 Gang Members Shot in Confrontation

Two gang members were shot after threatening a couple of rival gang members with a tire iron Saturday night, according to police.

Both men were listed in stable condition at Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center, where they were being treated for their wounds.

Police said the gunmen were visiting a woman in the 6600 block of Garvey Avenue about 6:30 p.m. when they were confronted by two rival gang members, one brandishing a tire iron. Witnesses said the visiting gang members drew handguns and shot one of the rivals in the leg and the other in the stomach.

The gunmen then fled in what police described as a “mini pickup truck” with tinted windows and wide, chrome-rimmed tires.

No arrests have been made. Police were questioning eight witnesses Saturday night.
