Universal Studios Expansion

I’m deeply disappointed with the press coverage about Universal’s development project. Universal has carefully planned a “City Jewel” in the heart of the Valley, providing a huge tax base and thousands of new jobs. As a result of dozens of forum-type community meetings, Universal has adjusted many elements of its proposed development. Tragically a few vocal community activists, supported by the press, have caused the Valley’s largest private employer to drastically reduce its plan for the future--to the detriment of the city. . . . The media [have] chosen to slant stories toward the point of view of the naysayers, who offer nothing but criticism. Negativity may indeed sell newspapers, but it does not provide a new tax base or employment.
The original plan was the right plan for Los Angeles and the right plan for Universal Studios.
