Leaf Blower Ruling

The delay agreed upon by the L.A. City Council regarding enforcement of the ban on leaf blowers was a wise one. The council didn’t go far enough though; they should have blown the ordinance off the books completely. The ban was a clear case of cruelty to those at or below the poverty level.
Our City Council should scrap the ban and work on things of importance like street maintenance, graffiti abatement and fighting crime.

Some questions about the leaf blower law: What compromise? We didn’t have a ban before and we still don’t have one. . . . What racism? Nobody said only Hispanics can’t use them. . . . What enforcement problems? The police don’t keep track of warnings for traffic violations; why should they for this? If they use a blower, give them a ticket.
Come on, downtown Los Angeles council, do the right thing for once.
