Economic Development Group Gives Awards

The Ventura County Economic Development Assn. presented four annual awards during a recent ceremony.
The Carl F. Lowthorp Golden Eagle Award was given to Santa Paula resident William Simmons, president of I PRISE Communications, honoring his commitment to community partnership activities.
The Dr. James Cowan Award of Excellence in Education went to Camarillo resident Phil Palbaum for his development and coordination of Impact II, a business education program.
The Spirit of Government Award was given to Penny Bohannon of Port Hueneme, recognizing her longtime service to the business community.
An Honorary Lifetime Membership Award was presented to Nancy Williams of Camarillo, who was honored for her 18 years of service to the association as its executive director.
