Hamas Denies Link to Any N.Y. Bomb Plot

The militant Islamic resistance movement Hamas denied that it had any connection to an alleged New York subway suicide bombing plot. Some U.S. law enforcement sources had earlier linked suspects in the alleged conspiracy to Hamas, and officials said disaster was only hours away when police seized five pipe bombs and arrested three men Thursday in a raid on a Brooklyn apartment. “We deny any connection between us and the prisoners or the accusations against them,” Hamas said in a leaflet faxed to international news agencies. The leaflet said the movement has repeatedly stated its rejection of attacks on targets other than Israel.
