Opponent--California Jaguars
Site--Santa Ana Stadium
Time--5 p.m.
Records--Zodiac 7-12; Jaguars 12-10
Zodiac update--In a 3-1 victory over the Jaguars Friday night in Gonzales, the Zodiac played its best game in quite some time, concentrating on the short, controlled style that makes it dangerous. Jose Vasquez, a forward and defender from Santa Ana, has signed with the Galaxy and won’t play, a Zodiac representative said. Gustavo Leal scored his team-high 11th goal of the season Friday.
Jaguar update--California lost two players to ejection Friday--Ryan Collins in the 37th minute and Randy Mann in the 72nd--but both are eligible to play today because A-League rules allow players who receive red cards a seven-day grace period before serving one-game suspensions. The Jaguars are tied for third place with Vancouver in the Western Conference Pacific Division with 34 points. The Zodiac is in fifth place, 15 points back.
