Robert L. Palmer Jr. has left his job as vice president for student affairs at State University of New York at Buffalo to fill the same position at Cal State Fullerton.
He begins the new post next Monday, joining the university president’s cabinet, overseeing planning and management.
His duties include administering and coordinating student programs and services. Palmer will supervise a 120-person staff and be responsible for a $5-million student-affairs budget.
“Dr. Palmer brings invaluable experience to Cal State Fullerton from a state university that is comparable in size and mission and at which he clearly demonstrated his commitment to learning,” university President Milton A. Gordon said.
Palmer’s appointment concludes a nationwide search that included 76 candidates to replace Robbie L. Nayman, who retired from the vice presidential post earlier this year.
