A 16-year-old Oxnard girl has received nine months in youth detention centers for her part in a carjacking and assault of a retired teacher.
The girl was sentenced in Juvenile Court last week to 90 days in juvenile hall and 180 days in the county-run Colston Youth Center.
She was charged with pepper-spraying retired high school teacher Gertrude Cash, 76, outside a downtown Oxnard supermarket in June and then stealing her car for a joy ride to Ventura.
A knife-wielding female accomplice, 15, had earlier received four months in the Colston Youth Center.
