8 More Climbers Killed in the Alps

Eight climbers fell to their deaths, raising to 37 the number of people killed in the European Alps in four weeks. Four climbers were killed near the Gran Zebru peak in the South Tyrol, the ANSA news agency reported. A few hours later, three others died on the same mountain. Swiss authorities said a climber was killed in a fall in the central Swiss Alps. The climbers’ names were not released.
