A Los Angeles woman subpoenaed to testify in the murder case stemming from the death of Bill Cosby’s son has been arrested on a drug charge in New Jersey, authorities said.
Tracy West, 35, was arrested July 22 after Clifton police officers allegedly found an estimated $5,000 worth of cocaine, most of it hidden in the false bottom of a deodorant can, in her suitcase. She was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and remains in custody.
West was subpoenaed in July by the district attorney’s office as a witness in the Cosby murder case and had been ordered to appear in a hearing held Monday. Both the Los Angeles district attorney’s office and the alternate public defender’s office declined comment about her arrest.
Mikail “Michael” Markhasev, 18, has been charged with slaying Ennis Cosby, 27. The son of Bill Cosby was found shot to death Jan. 16, his body lying next to his Mercedes-Benz on a side street near Mulholland Drive, just off the San Diego Freeway.
Markhasev, who remains in custody without bail, has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
