Traffic Headache: The choices we make . . . After a CHP officer discovered, during a routine stop in the Antelope Valley, that Miguel Briseno of Westminster didn’t carry auto insurance, Briseno could have paid a $1,351 fine or purchased insurance as required by law. As he later admitted in court, he instead three times tried to submit false proof of insurance to the Antelope Municipal Court. Now he faces up to three years in state prison.
