Teacher Pleads Guilty to Rape of 6th-Grader

KENT, Wash. — An elementary school teacher who had a baby by one of her sixth-graders pleaded guilty Thursday to rape of a child. Mary Kay LeTourneau, a 35-year-old mother of four other children, could get up to 7 1/2 years in prison at sentencing Aug. 29.
LeTourneau has lost custody of her four other children, and her husband has filed for divorce. The boy, now 14, is in counseling.
