Pilots are being sought to participate in the city’s Eagle Flight 12 program, in which people with physical and developmental disabilities are given free airplane rides.
The event, sponsored by the Fullerton Sunrise Rotary Club and the Fullerton Municipal Airport, will take place Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Besides the 20-minute plane rides, participants will be treated to a carnival.
Program organizers said pilots also are urged to provide their own planes.
To fly, volunteers must have pilot licenses, third-class medical certificates, 500 hours of total pilot time and meet all FAA requirements.
To sign up, call (714) 871-1434 before Aug. 31. Those who want to participate in the free flights are asked to call (714) 490-3866.
